Farnham is lucky to have a range of school horses and ponies which cater for all levels, ages and sizes of riders.
Meet our equine teachers.
Patty (novice children)
Patty is one of our oldest and sweetest school ponies. She has been with Farnham right from the beginning and gave some of our top junior riders their first lessons. Patty is only used on the lunge for our youngest up and coming superstars.
Itchy (novice – intermediate all ages)
Itchy has plenty of spring in her step for a retired TB, and she can still carry a rider to victory over small show jumping courses. Itchy is a firm favourite amongst our younger generations and her favourite thing is outrides around the countryside.
Moony (novice – advanced children)
One of our prettiest ponies, Moony is every child’s dream pony with her beautiful golden colour and willing attitude.
Vixen (novice – advanced children)
Vixen lives up to her name with her cheeky face and endearing attitude. Pretty as a picture and very talented over show jumps, Vixen is very popular amongst our younger rising stars.
Chezi (novice – advanced all ages)
Chezi had a successful competitive career and is now passing her knowledge onto the privileged riders at Farnham. Chezi is sweet as pie on the lunge reins with beginners, and will jump anything and go anywhere with the more advanced riders, as long as they are happy to do so at speed.
Aerial Ace (intermediate – advanced all ages)
A retired show jumper, Ace knows his job and enjoys it. A real old gentleman, Ace carries his riders as if they are made of glass. His willing attitude towards his teaching allows our more advanced riders at Farnham Kyalami to excel in their chosen discipline.
Louis (novice – advanced all ages)
Louis looks after all his riders, whether on the lunge learning to trot, or going round an 80cm show jumping course. He loves his job and has a very laid back attitude to life. His favourite thing at Farnham Kyalami is to go on outrides through all the space the branch has to offer.
Tiamo (novice – advanced all ages)
One of the roundest ponies in our school, little Tiamo is full of life and enjoys going on outrides. His sweet nature and fat tummy endears him to everyone who rides him.
Polly (intermediate to advanced all ages)
Polly is an awesome pony who loves to jump and loves outrides. Her talent and will to learn, encourages the riders at Farnham to excel.
All our school horses receive top quality care. They are fed and looked after exactly the same as our competitive horses as this keeps them fat, happy and healthy. All our ponies are well schooled and can offer a complete experience and the guarentee that our riders will progress at a pace that they are comfortable with.
